Elise DiGuiseppe

Elise is an experienced member of the firm’s casualty defense team, now in her 4th year overall with HKR after first joining the firm as a Summer Associate.  Even at this early stage of her career, Elise has wide-ranging litigation experience, reflecting the trust she has earned with clients and within the firm.  Her litigation practice ranges from the first-chair handling of various insurance defense engagements involving uninsured and underinsured claims, construction defects, property damage, insurance coverage disputes, premise liability, insurance fraud and extracontractual claims, while also including second-chair involvement in HKR’s defense of catastrophic, complex injury matters, with substantial experience in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia, as well as the other state courts in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Elise has also handled insurance coverage matters with an emphasis on first-party property insurance, including coverage disputes and the defense of extracontractual allegations. Elise also assists carriers in matters outside of litigation, including claims assistance for matters involving defense and indemnification, uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, first party property, fraud investigations, and ensuring compliance with state insurance regulations.

In addition to the demands of her active litigation practice, Elise is a founding member of HKR’s Associate Committee.  She also serves as a Board member of Women Beyond the Tee, a non-profit focused on the empowerment of women via the game of golf.

Elise obtained her law degree from the Drexel University Kline School of Law, where she taught local high school students constitutional law through the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Program and then coached them in a moot court competition. Elise also served on the board of Drexel’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Team where she competed nationally. Prior to law school, Elise obtained a B.S. in Advertising from University of Florida with a concentration in business administration.

Outside of the office, Elise enjoys playing tennis, reading, learning to play golf, and spending time with her family & friends.
